VELFU 10 MG TAB

VELFU TABLET contains the active ingredient Alfuzosin, which belongs to a group of medicines known as Alpha-1-blockers. It is primarily prescribed to provide relief from the moderate to severe symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in affected individuals.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a non-cancerous condition that causes the prostate gland to enlarge, leading to various urinary symptoms. These symptoms may include increased frequency of urination, changes in urine color or smell, urinary urgency, a weak or interrupted urine stream, and discomfort or pain after urination or ejaculation.

VELFU TABLET is specifically formulated to alleviate the symptoms of BPH by targeting the smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck. By blocking the alpha-1 receptors in these muscles, Alfuzosin helps to relax them, reducing urinary obstruction and improving urine flow.

However, there are certain precautions and contraindications associated with the use of VELFU TABLET. It is not recommended for individuals who have a known allergy to alfuzosin or similar substances such as terazosin and doxazosin. Additionally, patients with orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing from a sitting or lying position) or liver problems should avoid using this medication. If you have kidney problems, including mild, moderate, or severe impairment, VELFU TABLET should be used with caution.

It is important to note that VELFU TABLET is intended for use in men only and should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Furthermore, this medication is not suitable for children and adolescents under the age of 18. Elderly patients, particularly those aged 65 and above, should also exercise caution when using VELFU TABLET due to the potential increased susceptibility to side effects.
